Truth Is Often Disturbing… A Few Questions for Christ Followers to Consider

When truth is disturbing, do we who claim to follow Christ reject truth and its messengers with no consideration, because it contradicts what we and generations before us have believed, practiced and become familiar and comfortable believing and practicing?

Can we not stand the light of the Truth, because the lies we have believed have hidden the fact that instead of being clothed we are naked and are too proud to acknowledge it?

Do we like our first Father and Mother cover ourselves with “fig leaves” of anger, hatred, and rejection of the light and the one(s) carrying it the same as the Pharisees demonstrated anger, hatred, and rejection toward Jesus their Messiah?

Do we do this, like the Pharisees, in spite of the fact that His life and His works undeniably prove He is the one they claimed to wait and long for, because He who is Truth exposes our nakedness and that we are living in darkness rather than humble ourselves, confess, and turn to Him in repentance and faith?

Do we like the Pharisees love our traditions, rituals, and ourselves to the exclusion of loving Father, Son, Holy Spirit and our neighbors?

Are we like, the Pharisees, more concerned with and interested in appearances and the respect of men than the relationship the one we claim as Lord offers you and me and gave His life to reconcile?

I genuinely love the Church/Ecclesia of Christ and this is why I write these things.

I do in hope that those who read it will be encouraged if they have left organized and institutionalized religion.

I do it also to encourage those who are feeling called out, but for whatever reason are hesitant to leave and/or wondering if they are crazy and the only ones that believe and see the things they know in their heart Father is showing them are not of him.

Lastly I do it to hopefully shake those who are religious from their slumber and blind acceptance of that which keeps them from experiencing the transformational love of Father in the simple relationship he desires to have with them and for them to have with the Church/Ecclesia His Son is building and is Head of.

Father I pray show us those things in our lives that stand in the way of the simple relationship you offer us with you and in the way of walking in unhindered community with the Church/Ecclesia Body of Christ of which your Son is the only head and is guided and empowered by your love and your Spirit only. Set us Free from the -spirit of religion that makes us prideful, self-righteous, and concerned with only our-selves rather than fully focusing on living lives in which your son has preeminence in all things and abiding in him as our only obsession. Teach us how to live loved and to live love and please reduce us/me to love.
